The museum 'Het Land van Thorn' presents: Marliz Frencken - 'Madonna's'
'Madonna's' is a solo exhibition by Marliz Frencken. This exhibition will show the new sculptures for the first time.
She made a serie of 20 especially for this exhibition.
A brand new book will accompany the sculptures.

Art Miami takes place December 2 - 6, 2009.

De Halle, Geel, Belgium
A large solo-exhibition by Marliz Frencken is shown in De Halle, which is also known as ‘the mini-SMAK’. De Halle is situated near Antwerp, close to the Netherlands. The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue.
The opening is Friday the 23th of October by Anneke Oele, managing director of Art Amsterdam till November 2009.
Open from Friday 23rd of October until Sunday 29th November 2009 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Art Amsterdam 2009 was a great success. Marliz received a lot of good press and managed to sell a lot.

Cruel Beauty is the title of the new book of Marliz Frencken.
In the book, 136 pages, the over 79 statues are being portrayed in different ways, with greatly enlarged details.

The statues in the book were photographed by German photographer Thomas Mayer, renowned for his pictures of e.g. architect Frank Gehry. The introduction was written by Jan Hoet, Director of Museum MARTa Herford in Germany and famous for his work as curator of Documenta IX in Kassel.

Cruel Beauty (34,95 euros) has been for sale in bookstores since September 2008. In addition, a special edition of 50 numbered and signed copies of the book have been released. Every copy is accompanied by a unique, cast in resin, artwork.
This edition costs 395 euros.
